Old timey baseball
I read somewhere — a Bill James book, I think — that Carl Hubbell was a submariner, practically throwing underhand. Turns out that isn’t accurate:
Christy Mathewson. Doesn’t look like he threw very hard, does it?
This one is awesome. The great Satchel Paige:
Walter Johnson threw sidearm? For some reason I never knew that…
Pete Alexander (hic!):
“Was I even there?”
Ducky Wucky!!!!

I’d also like to point out that these guys didn’t need steroids to be great. Nope, all these guys needed was booze.

Oh, and I was thinking of Carl Mays who was referred to as an “underhand” pitcher, not Carl Hubbell. It’s hard keeping the various and sundry “Killer Carls” straight in my addled memory.
