My Toyota Echo will actually start in this weather without plugging in the block-heater. Oh sure, it bitches at me and makes me well aware of the indignity it imagines it is suffering, but it will start reliably to about -38° C.

The power doors on our mini-van basically refuse to work in this weather. American made. Union, don’t you know.
