UPDATE: This has got to be the funniest sports rumour I’ve heard in a long time:
So tonight as I was working at Safeway, Micheal [sic] Peca came in and applied for a club card and airmiles.
Do you think Klowe aquired his rights or what could possibly be going on?
I don’t know what to make of this but just something I thought I would share.
I really hope he ends up signing in Edmonton, just so that this wildly improbable incident turns out to be true. I’d totally get a t-shirt with Peca’s number and the name “Airmiles” on the back.
(As an aside, when Peca was with the Oilers in 05/06, I had more than one amusing exchange with people over the phone because of the similarity in our names: “Are you the Michael Peca?”* But once I spelled it out — K-R-A-N-K-O-R — the confusion was completely cleared up.)
* No, this did not help me get free services or stuff. Or laid.
