Fans
As a sort of followup to my last post, I present another clip of the fans at Rexall singing the national anthem during the Oilers’ cup run in 2006.
This one is special to me because it was the first NHL game my father ever attended (and it just happened to be during the Stanley Cup Finals). When I later told my mother that he had belted out “O Canada” right along with everyone else, she was shocked: in the 40+ years she’s known him, she had never once heard him sing a note. But he did that night. Who on earth wouldn’t?

Just wow. I’ve seen a lot of crazy hockey arenas on a lot of playoff games on TV, and nothing compared to Edmonton in 2006.
