Carpe diem

Not much Carp news at the moment because of the All Star break. The Carp’s division, Central, beat those assholes from the Pacific division 11-6 in front of the crowd in Yokohama. Yes, that Yokohama, where the talentless bozos of the Baystars play for their red ParticipACTION pin every season.

UPDATE: A brief explanation of ParticipACTION for those unfortunate souls who never experienced it.

Speaking of ParticipACTION…

Oh, my, I am absolutely burning with righteous rage. Indeed, indeed, the Pacific League is full of pansies and ne’er-do-wells. So sweet they lost.

Something drastic has to be done about Yokohama.

Drastic? Gosh, Hiroshima has no experience with drastic measures…

I was actually going to make a comment about Truman and Yokohama, but it was too crass, so I withheld it.

The ParticipACTION flashback is groovy, sir.

I remember getting a silver badge for doing that nonsense.

I also remember (details are a bit foggy due to years of beer consumption) standing in gym waiting to do the flexed arm hang, and the big dumb jock guys were talking smack about my puny arms and how I wouldn’t be able to hold myself up for more than a few seconds.

Of course, I was way lighter than all of them, and thus beat each of their times in the event. One of the proudest moments of my stellar athletic career.
