Guest post by Lord Edmund Bryll, inventor of Brylcreem

Yes, yes, yes. Hmm. Yes, thank you Krankor, there’s a good lad.

Now, as regards the topic that has been much on the minds of myself and, perhaps, dare I say, others, I found myself remarking just the other day to the much esteemed Lady Bryll that it is, as it were, a jolly good thing that an element of the fairer sex has, shall we say, become somewhat relevant within the realm of discourse around the events of the day, eh wot? Yes, yes, hmm.

I am, as often happens under circumstances such as these, reminded not so much of an anecdote as rather a saying, les bon mots as it were, of my lamentably passed-on colleague and, if I may risk a modicum of presumptuousness, friendly acquaintence Rudyard Kipling, who once uttered these words which needless to say speak for themselves: “A woman’s a woman, but a good cigar is shaped like a penis but you can put it in your mouth without necessarily being a homosexual” or words to that effect. Indeed, yes, hmn, yes.

I trust, dear reader, that one does not object or otherwise take offense at the thought of me gifting the final word of my treatise to the austere and dare I say dainty Lady Brill. It galls, you see, to some gentlemen of an older and altogether more conservative nature to allow a voice in the written form to one of the breed of recipients of Adam’s rib, you understand, but at the peril of sounding a reckless reformist, I shall appease the formidable Lady Bryll in the anticipation of receiving boudoir favours forthwith. Yes, hmm. Thusly, the estimable Lady Bryll, rendering her comment upon the subject at hand, intoned unto me this very afternoon: “I do so hope and wish that, momentarily setting aside past controversies and unfortunate indiscretions, Britney has indeed regained her composure and will be gracing us once again with her delightful, if somewhat derivitive form of popular entertainment.” Quite so.

In honour of her HRM Elizabeth II and all her heirs, I bid you good day.
