Another reason I won’t vote for the Green Party
Not that there was ever much of a chance in the first place, but this seals the deal for me. I became aware today that I am quite familiar with someone who has won a nomination to run as one of their MP candidates. I had the extreme displeasure of coming into contact with this person, who is, in my admittedly unprofessional opinion, insane. Not “wacky” insane; not “kind of off the wall” insane; but rather gibbering, out-of-touch-with-reality insane.
Now, it’s not just that I deeply dislike this person (though I do), but I have tremendous difficulty understanding how any political party short of the Natural Law Party could actually let someone who is demonstrably incapable of normal human interaction represent them. Well, maybe the Marijuana Party, but they at least would have the excuse of being stoned.
I understand that the Greens had a very hard time finding candidates, and so pretty much accepted anyone who showed up. But no matter how respectable they may become in the future, I’ll always and forever think of them as the party that ran as a candidate someone who even the Commies probably would have turned away.

Oh, come on! Name some names!

I would, but one of the characteristics of this lunatic is Scientology-like litigiousness. If you had dealings with this person, you’d quickly find yourself threatened with a lawsuit. While normally it would be an empty (but crazy) threat, this person will attempt it if a lawyer can be convinced that there’s even the remotest merit.
In all seriousness, if I named names I would almost certainly be hit with a libel or defamation suit, even though I’m pretty confident I could prove that this person is a frothing-at-the-mouth nutjob.

My goading wasn’t serious – it’s one thing to identify crazy people by describing their behaviour, which, as I’ve learned the hard way, can lead to problems. It’s a whole ‘nuther story to name names.
However, with my keen insight, I am sure I can identify the nutter by looking at lists of nominated candidates.

Crazy Harry was pretty cool.
