Cravat versus ascot

Anybody know the difference? I’d ask Lord Edmund Bryll, since surely he’d know if anybody did, but…

    If I remember my fashion history correctly, a cravat is more like a tie, often tied in an elaborate bow. An ascot is more like a scarf which is folded over itself and pinned, then tucked into a waistcoat.

    So…cravat looks like a bowtie, and an ascot looks more like a traditional tie.

    * Short answer: The Philippines had a brothel-based economy, whereas in Malaysia they used shoes made from banana peels.
