My transition to out-of-touch adult is nearly complete
Out of the Rolling Stone 100 Best Singles of 2008, I recognize precisely 4 titles.
See if you can guess which four. Here are some hints: two I only know because their videos went viral, one I know because of a minor controversy, and the other is just so ubiquitous that even I couldn’t avoid it (as much as I wish I could). The first person to correctly guess which four gets a condescending photocopied letter of appreciation from some charity I got roped into donating to.

The best part is that in this day and age I could easily check out everything on the list in a matter of seconds, but I really don’t care

I’m really out of date and out of tune. I recognized a grand total of ONE.

I only recognized 5 by title, which is pretty staggering considering the presence of two teenagers in our house…
I’ll bet I’d know quite a few by hearing them, but like Krankor, I couldn’t be bothered to learn which obnoxious tune goes with which obnoxious title…

I recognize a cool dozen by title. I’m shocked that it’s that many, but I realize that the ones I do know are either in crazy-high rotation on Sonic (the local modern-rock radio station, which I listen to when I’m alone in the car) or were featured in some way on So You Think You Can Dance. Going to go listen to snippets now and see how many I know without knowing their names (Beyonce, Busta, I’m looking in your direction)…

Oh. Nevermind. All the links lead to a “you’re not in the US, so we’re not going to let you listen” message, and I certainly don’t care enough to search them all out on YouTube myself.
