It’s 2/3 through January 2009 and I’m still writing 2018 on my cheques. Also, my signature could be interpreted as spelling the word “VOID”.

You’re writing “2018″ on your cheques? First of all, 2018? Do you mean 2008? Or are you really as adept at time-travel as I’ve always suspected? And secondly, who uses cheques these days?

All I’m saying is that I’ll have the money to cover the cheque in about 10 years. It’s always wise to post-date to give yourself a little buffer zone.
And for the record, I have been to the future. Let me tell you, great strides will be made in fax paper technology, and the videocassettes of 2018 can hold almost 3 hours in SP mode. Also, they’ll have this thing called a “compacted disk” which is slightly smaller than a 45 but can contain more than 5 songs!
